ROSSICA is a European auction and cultural initiative founded in 2007 by a group of like-minded individuals from Russia and Europe. Conceived initially to preserve and promote Russian cultural heritage abroad, ROSSICA has since broadened its scope, bringing together Russian and European art, rare books and manuscripts, Old Masters, and twentieth-century design.

OUR STORY
ROSSICA was founded in Paris in 2007 by a group of like-minded individuals from Europe and Russia, united by a shared passion for Russian culture and history, and by a commitment to preserving, studying and promoting Russia’s cultural heritage abroad.

For many years, rare books and manuscripts, archives and autographs, works of Russian art, historical artefacts and testimonies of the Russian émigré experience have formed the very heart of ROSSICA’s work.

ROSSICA TODAY

THE ART OF COLLECTING

Over time, ROSSICA’s field of interest has naturally broadened. Today, alongside Russian art, the project embraces a wider European artistic context — from Old Master drawings, painting and works on paper to Modernist and contemporary art, twentieth-century design, furniture and objets d’art.

We develop exhibition, research, educational and publishing projects, organise public lectures and work closely with private collections.

At ROSSICA, the making of an auction begins long before the sale itself — with research, attribution, provenance studies, archival work and bibliography.

We seek to bring together the traditions of European auctioneering with a contemporary approach to collecting. Our sales encompass rare books and manuscripts, Old Master and modern art, design, historical documents and objects whose significance lies not only in their authorship or period, but also in their individuality, rarity and cultural context.

FROM PARIS TO ST PETERSBURG

ROSSICA brings together two cultural traditions and welcomes collaboration with collectors, researchers, artists and all those who share a commitment to art, history and the preservation of cultural heritage.

ROSSICA specialists provide expertise and advisory services and are available to meet owners of works of art and collections throughout Europe.
